Even now this far into the school year we are still asked to help additional kids. They may be new kids that just came into one of our schools or kids that were just now found and need help. We will never say NO. This child may be in a greater need than any one we are currently helping. This week in the food packs, as a snack, we gave oreo cookies, they were on sale for the first time this school year. One school reported that the kids acted as if it were Christmas. Hearing this reminds me how fortunate I am, and with little effort what my team and I can do to help the lives of others. Some people asked me how can someone your age do that, I just think how can I not.....Kira

Volunteering takes up time and sometimes money. It can be hard work. It can be even scary. So why do it? Well here’s why! Some people need help through no fault of their own. Large families, loss of job and chronic sickness are all unfortunate circumstances. Without people volunteering their help the world becomes a heartless place; everyone looking out for themselves. What a sad world we would live in. People who become volunteers are happier and live more satisfying lives. So what are you waiting for?

Karing 4 Kidz has provided gifts to all our less fortunate children in the Fitchburg Public Elementary Schools. This is our second year providing gifts thanks to Christ Church in Fitchburg allowing me to set up a Karing Tree with the kids wishes hung on it. Letters were sent home to the parents asking what their child would like for Christmas. The gifts were bought and wrapped by parishioners of Christ Church as well as FSU Care & Share program, friends and family
I wish everyone nothing but the happiest of holidays full of love, family and friends.

Childhood Hunger! Our schools are telling us the need is tremendous. Trying to teach a child who hasn't eaten all weekend is next to impossible. They come to school Monday morning and can't concentrate, they can't focus. No child should have to go hungry but it happens every day. I look forward to Fridays as it is my favorite day of the week, it brings me so much joy knowing the kids get so excited when they get their food and are OK for the weekend. We now have more kids then we ever had and I cannot say, "NO MORE". As the holidays are quickly approaching please consider one more gift. This may be the greatest gift of all, a gift given to someone who cannot give back. There are 27 weeks left in the school year. Please consider sponsoring a child for $69.00, the balance of the school year which will provide food over the weekend for a child, and joy for you.
